Oaklee’s rock and roll-themed birthday session was a blast to photograph. As a photographer in South Jersey, I love it when parents come to me with creative ideas for their child’s photoshoot. Rock and roll is a classic theme that is easy to design for a boy, but adding a touch of red made it perfect for a little girl like Oaklee.
I first met Oaklee when she was just a newborn, capturing her precious first moments in this world. I also had the pleasure of photographing her mother, Roxanne, during her maternity session. It’s so special to be able to document these milestones in a family’s life. To see how the children grow and change over time is so magical!
For Oaklee’s birthday session, we transformed the studio into a rock and roll paradise. Oaklee’s outfit was a mix of edgy and cute, with a black tulle skirt paired with a checkered bathing suit. She looked absolutely adorable and full of personality!

As we started the session, Oaklee was a little shy at first. But once she got into character, she really started to shine. Mom brought a giant balloon too so that we could announce that she will be a big sister in March!! It was so much fun to see her personality come alive in front of the camera.
I made sure to capture all the little details that made Oaklee’s session special, from the way her eyes lit up when she played the guitar to the way she danced around the stage with pure joy. The pink and red accents added a girly touch without taking away from the rock and roll theme. The photos turned out beautifully, capturing Oaklee’s spirit and charisma in every shot.
As Oakley’s photographer in South Jersey, I feel honored to be able to document these precious moments for her family. I have watched her grow from a tiny newborn to a spunky little girl with a passion for music and a love for life. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this little rock star and to capture miss Oaklee again but with her little brother in March!
