Our family maternity photos with Elisha, Nick, and their cute-as-a-daisy daughter Ivy were a joyful occasion. Roaming around the scenic Stafford Forge Wildlife Management Area in West Creek, we had a lovely time documenting this particular stage of their family life. It’s all about to change in a big way with the arrival of a new baby, and the whole family is/was super excited to meet him/her.
This New Jersey location is fantastic for photos, with plenty of wide-open space, whimsical-looking long grass, and rustic pathways. The light was soft, and nobody else was in sight for miles. We couldn’t have hoped for a perfect atmosphere. NJ has many great maternity session spots; you can see more pretty locations here.
Little Ivy is so excited to be a big sister. With her adorable smile and bouncy blond curls, she was so affectionate and loving towards her parents during the family maternity shoot. At just over one-year-old, she is super busy exploring, running around, and keeping her parents on their toes. Those cheeky expressions and innocent giggles were just everything! I could have photographed her all day. She’s such a darling!
Elisha chose an excellent outfit for our family maternity photos with a fitted knitted jersey dress accentuating her curves. Nick went casual with a matching shirt and jeans. Miss Ivy was also coordinated with her adorable beige dress and floral boots. It was pretty cold that day, so we kept moving, and they all looked relaxed, cozy, and in love despite the chilly weather.
The couple had their ultrasound photo with them, so we had some photos incorporating the baby’s first photo. We also grabbed some intimate couple photos as Ivy ran circles around us, playing in the grass. And as always, everyone had some individual portraits taken during photo shoots. Someone in the group will always resist saying they don’t need them. I say you do need them. You never know when you might want to update your social media profile or need a photo with just yourself in it. It only takes a few minutes to get individual portraits, so they are a part of every collection.
The family loved their photos and were happy for me to share them on the blog. They were impressed to get the images back in less than a week and were in complete awe of every photo. Elisha told me she couldn’t stop staring at them because she felt so beautiful, which is the best compliment any photographer could wish for.
