Mayson’s birthday cake smash photography session was an absolute blast! As soon as mom mentioned that they were huge football fans, I knew that we had to incorporate that theme into the shoot. The idea of a non-traditional football theme was so creative. I couldn’t wait to bring it to life.
Mayson looked adorable in his red and blue jersey, representing his parent’s favorite team. The colors popped against the neutral backdrop. Making for some really eye-catching photos. He was all smiles as he posed for the camera, showing off his team spirit.
When it came time for the actual cake smash, Mayson was beyond excited. His eyes lit up as he saw the smash cake in front of him. He was waiting patiently to smash that cake! He wasted no time diving in, getting his hands messy and smearing frosting all over his face. I captured every messy moment, from the first bite to the last crumb.
To add an extra special touch to the session, Mayson changed into a “first year down” onesie for the cake-smashing portion. The onesie was the perfect way to commemorate his first year of life, and it made for some adorable photos. Seeing his chubby cheeks covered in cake made my heart melt – he was truly having the time of his life!

After the cake was thoroughly smashed, it was time for Mayson to clean up in a milk bath. The milk bath is one of my favorite parts of any cake smash session, as it allows babies to splash and play in a small tub of water. Mayson splashed around happily, making a mess of the milk and having a great time. The milk bath photos turned out absolutely precious, capturing the pure joy and innocence of childhood.
As a new jersey cake smash photographer, there is nothing better than being able to capture these special moments for families. I love being able to bring their visions to life and create memories that they will cherish forever. Cake smash photography is such a fun and playful way to celebrate a baby’s first birthday, and I am so grateful to be a part of these special moments.
