Newborn family photography is cherishing life’s sweetest moments together in the early days of newborn life. Capturing special moments of families is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. And I was thrilled to reunite with Marissa and Joe once again to celebrate the newest addition to their family, sweet little Charlotte. Having photographed their wedding years ago, it was a joy to see them evolve into a family of five. With two handsome boys already in the mix, welcoming a baby girl was a moment they had eagerly anticipated. And they knew they wanted to document it all!

Marissa reached out to me with her vision for newborn family photography, wanting to create a lovely, feminine atmosphere for Charlotte. Pastel shades of pink and soft hues accentuated the warmth and joy they felt with their new daughter. It felt like such a fitting tribute to the love and excitement that surrounded her arrival. Marissa had a keen sense of what she wanted. Desiring that quintessential “girl vibe” for Charlotte. A stark yet beautiful contrast to the spirited energy of her two older brothers.

As we set up for the session, the energy in their home was palpable. The boys, full of enthusiasm, were eager to be involved and showed an immediate affection for their little sister. It warmed my heart to see the way they approached her with curiosity and love. This was a family that clearly embraced each new chapter. The boys had already mastered the role of big brothers. And it was a delightful sight to capture their gentle interactions. Whether it was soft smiles or tiny hands reaching out to say hello.

We made sure to include a variety of group shots. Newborn family photography beautifully captures the essence of togetherness, and it was essential to document Marissa and Joe as loving parents cradling their newborn daughter. Images of the entire family gathered around Charlotte brought out their unique dynamics, showing each member’s love for their brand-new little girl. As a newborn family photographer, being able to freeze these moments in time is incredibly fulfilling. It provides them with memories to cherish for years to come.

Of course, we also focused on capturing those precious solo shots of Charlotte. There’s something magical about newborn family photography. Those tiny toes, soft cheeks, and delicate features deserve to be celebrated. I often think about how parents want to hold onto these fleeting moments forever, and that’s where my role becomes so meaningful. Every curl of her hair and gentle expression was captured intricately, showcasing her sweet innocence.

Marissa’s desire to include all things girly added a special touch to the session. From soft blankets adorned with florals to cute headbands that framed Charlotte’s face. All the details honored the essence of their growing family. As someone who has also welcomed boys into my own life, I could relate entirely to her excitement. If I had a little girl, I would undoubtedly indulge her every whim too!

At The End Of the session

I couldn’t help but feel honored to have been a part of this family’s journey again. As we wrapped up the session, watching Marissa and Joe step into this new role as parents to a daughter solidified their strong bond as a family unit. Capturing their love for Charlotte reinforced the idea that every child, regardless of gender, is a cherished blessing in the lives of their parents. I can’t wait to see what adventures lie ahead for this beautiful family!
