As a newborn photographer in New Jersey, I am lucky to witness so many beautiful moments in the lives of families. Each baby in my studio holds a special place in my heart. However, I had the pleasure of photographing something lovely about little Penny, the 10-day-old red-haired newborn baby girl.
Penny’s parents, Nicole and Danny, are no strangers to my camera. I first met them when they hired me to capture their engagement photos at Scotland Run Golf Course. From there, I had the honor of photographing their wedding day, the arrival of their first son, Owen. I even captured his first birthday celebration too! When they contacted me again to capture their newest addition, I was thrilled to be a part of their growing family’s journey again.
From the moment Penny arrived at my studio, I could tell she was going to be a joy to work with. Her bright red hair stood out against the blankets and props. It made her even more adorable than I imagined. Nicole and Danny beamed with pride as they oversaw me position their daughter for each shot. Capturing her tiny features and sweet expressions in every frame.
But what warmed my heart was seeing Owen, Penny’s big brother, interact with her during the session. Owen was already showing signs of being a fantastic older sibling at just a few years old. He gently kissed Penny’s forehead. Owen even lovingly held Penny’s hand! The bond between these siblings was undeniable. I knew that Penny would be well-loved and cared for in her new family.
As I snapped away, capturing Penny’s every yawn, stretch, and tiny smile. I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to freeze these moments in time for Nicole, Danny, and their children. Being a newborn photographer in New Jersey allows me to witness the purest forms of love and joy that families share. I am honored to be trusted to document these milestones.
After the session ended, Nicole and Danny left happy and relaxed. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. I love to create lasting memories that families can cherish for generations to come. As I edited the photos, I couldn’t help but smile. The thought of the joy they would bring to Nicole and Danny as they looked back on their daughter’s first days.
