The Christmas Wedding with Alexis and Dan

Alexis and Dan had a Christmas wedding, the best gift a photographer like me could ask for. I’m obsessed with the festive season, so combining my love of documenting weddings with Christmas was totally exciting.

It’s not easy to pull off a Christmas-themed wedding. If you overload on the decorations, lighting or Christmas trees, it can start to look a bit too bright and jolly. Thankfully Alexis and Dan styled their Christmas wedding to perfection using subtle crisp pops of red in outfits and decorations, blending Christmas elements like holly and pine into their wedding stationery and table decorations and personalizing Christmas tree decorations for their guests. It was done so tastefully and creatively every step of the way, and a month before Christmas, it was the best way to kick off the festive season.

Seaview Deloce Hotel Portraits

Everyone got ready at the Seaview Dolce Hotel, and the ceremony and reception were at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club. Even though they were about to have a romantic first look, Dan sent a handwritten card to his bride to open before she put her dress on. That dreamy dress with such intricate detail fitted Alexis perfectly. With her long veil and lovely bouquet by Shoprite, she looked gorgeous. After the bridal party and father’s first look, it was time to relieve Dan from the suspense. This sweet couple is so in love, and when they see each other. It is a moment I know they will never forget. Looking at their bridal portraits before the ceremony, you can see they are made for each other. The couple also had their adorable pup at the wedding. He was adorable and dressed in a fancy white outfit with pearl lead.

Blue Heron Pines Wedding

The wedding ceremony was a stunning affair, and working alongside Enchanted Celebrations, who did the videography, we captured every lovely moment. Music by Ceremonious Strings uplifted the mood. As the sun slowly set, giving us soft, flattering light, the couple sealed the deal with a kiss. We took some more time with the newlyweds to make the most of the remaining daylight. Afterward, they entered the reception with all the high-energy vibes you would expect at a Xmas-themed wedding. There was much celebrating that night! Elite Entertainment ensured the dance floor was the place to be between dining, speeches, and cake cutting.

It was a pleasure to document Alexis and Dan’s love story. We didn’t have time for an engagement shoot since they reached out only a month before the wedding after deciding the photography company they booked wasn’t a good match. Alexis is friends with my friend Cassidy whose wedding I shot and who was also my bridesmaid when I married. With this connection, she saw my work, and we soon jumped up and down about the Christmas wedding. Even though I had to shorten our annual Thanksgiving holiday vacation in Ohio short, it was worth it to be at this lovely wedding. Here is a link for a festive flashback to more Christmas shoots I’ve done.
