How can I even begin to explain how beautiful Stephanie and Nicholas’ day was? First of all, The Estate at Florentine Gardens is an absolutely beautiful venue both inside and out! The gardens at The Estate at Florentine Gardens are just a photographer’s dream featuring twinkly lights, a lot of florals, a pergola, and two beautiful gazebos. Not to mention the beautiful venue itself creates an amazing backdrop for portraits as well! While Steph and Nick tied the knot at a church, The Estate at Florentine Gardens offers a beautiful outdoor ceremony space in the gardens as well if you prefer to get married on location. The cocktail hour at The Estate at Florentine Gardens is also to die for with so many food options, it literally has something both kids and adults could enjoy!
Steph and Nick reached out to me back in 2019 so to say their wedding day has been a long time coming is an understatement! I feel like it was just yesterday that we shot their engagement session but at the same time forever ago! I think with the way the 2020 year was with it both dragging but also flying by, I was just so happy to finally be able to see these two again! Their day started off as a normal wedding day with getting ready photos done at separate houses. One thing that has become a normal thing with my couples is choosing to do a first look, even with a church ceremony!
Even if you decide to get married in a church, this doesn’t mean you have to trick to tradition. You would be surprised how amazing a first look can be, especially when you two can see each other the first time without a bunch of other eyes on you! When there is a church ceremony but my couples also want to do a first look, we coordinate it so that we do the first look at the ceremony, roughly about 45 minutes before the start of the ceremony. I like to do it this way so that you both have plenty of time to take a moment with one another, but we can also get you two into hiding before guests start showing up!
It is worth looking into doing a first look before your church ceremony. I promise you, it does not take away from the moment of you seeing each other at the start of the ceremony! If anything, it makes you more excited because the nerves should be mostly diminished!
